A Netherlands based media source has a small article about the coming conference in Kuwait. They note that over 50 countries and agencies will be there, and that projects valued at 4.2 billion dollars are to be looked at.

UPDATE: November 25. Preparatory meetings between the various nations attending have been held in Khartoum. Representatives from the Governments of United States, Great Britain, European Union, Spain, Netherlands, Norway, Italy, Turkey, France, Canada, Sweden, Japan and South Korea attended today’s consultation. Additionally, travel restrictions in the eastern region of the country have been removed.

UPDATE: November 30. The Conference begins tomorrow. Kuwait will be hosting the
donors and investors conference for East Sudan on December first with
the event held under the auspices of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah
Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

UPDATE: December 1. Info from a Sudanese media source. The conference seeks to focus on the need of the area of eastern Sudan
for investment opportunities , and aims to attract funds and investments
that will contribute to the common interest of all parties in
reconstruction, rehabilitation and development of eastern Sudan. A conference organizer, Dr. Mustafa Osman Isamil, spoke at a press conference last week.
